8 Affirmations for Living Your Best Life Right Now
Sometimes you need to remind yourself of what you’re working toward in life…
Of course there will be challenges. But you’re going to shine. Here are 8 ways to remember to live the life you dream of, every single day.
1. I Am Magically Creative
“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, magic, and power in it.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
My Affirmation:
I am intentionally and powerfully creative. It’s how I am made, and I spend time feeding, rather than repressing my creative energy. I know how to take a break from intense seasons of creation, but I always return to this inner source of love and beauty in the world.
2. I Dream and I Act
“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
My Affirmation:
I don’t just affirm my inherent beauty and goals for a fulfilled life; I also ACT. Maybe not in enormous, ground-eating steps, but in small, determined ways that show I understand how once in a while there will be setbacks. I may not move quickly, but I refuse to be defeated.
3. I Am Dedicated to Self Love and Care
“When I was around 18, I looked in the mirror and said, ‘You’re either going to love yourself or hate yourself.’ And I decided to love myself. That changed a lot of things.” — Queen Latifah
My Affirmation:
I believe 100% in self love and care. And I have a growing stockpile of delicious, soul-nourishing ideas that I will pull out regularly to treat myself. It’s definitely NOT a case of a dragon hoarding her treasure — I have so many lovely “flowers for my soul” that everyone around me benefits, too!
4. I Know What to Do When Fear Strikes
“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
My Affirmation:
When anxiety and fear strike, I know what to do. Sure, I might shake in my shoes a bit, but I also know to pull out that journal, call up that trusted coach or mentor, and figure out ways to face my fears and stresses when they show up in life.
5. I Blaze New Trails When I Need Them
“Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”— Ralph Waldo Emerson
My Affirmation:
I am comfortable “breaking up” with tradition, policy, or plans when I need a change. In fact I know exactly how to create a new, healthier tradition that fits better with my needs, and I inspire others to have the courage and confidence to do the same.
6. I Have a Powerful Voice, and I Will Use It
“I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard… we cannot succeed when half of us are held back.” ―Malala Yousafzai
My Affirmation:
I use my words. Rather than play the old, tired, and confusing game of “I hope/wish he/she just knows what I need,” I know what I need and I’m an ace at communicating in a way that can be heard and understood.
7. The Past Cannot Hold Me Back
“Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” – Pope John XXIII
My Affirmation:
I don’t let the past rule my future. I’ve made mistakes, but I’ve moved forward and I refuse to allow the facts of my past to dictate what I can do in my future. Instead, I use what I’ve learned to build that future.
8. I Am Building a Beautiful Future Every Day
“Luck? I don’t know anything about luck. I’ve never banked on it and I’m afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: Hard work–and realizing what is opportunity and what isn’t.”
— Lucille Ball
My Affirmation:
I am most assuredly NOT afraid of hard work. Which is not to say it’s always fun, or easy, but I know what things are worth working toward, and I also understand that most things in life take years of determined and loving work. I got this!
